#2012 MACBOOK PRO SCREEN ISSUES SERIAL#
The model and year MacBook can be identified by the model number and EMC number on the bottom of your MacBook, or the serial number. Prices for a replacement screen vary depending on the model and year, and whether you would like the whole screen assembly replaced (with lid) or just the screen panel, reusing your original aluminium lid (if not badly bent out of shape or badly dented in). If the MacBook is not booting up with visible defects on the screen, or there is no image at all, it is unlikely the screen will be causing the issue and we would recommend contacting us with more details. In these cases, if the MacBook is still booting fine, a new screen will resolve the issue.
#2012 MACBOOK PRO SCREEN ISSUES UPGRADE#
I'm tempted to upgrade the memory to the max but if there is something wrong elsewhere that would be pointless. Will try to borrow some memory or boot it with only one stick.Īny other suggestions (memory stress test of some kind)? I ran the hardware test, the extended h/w test and memtest and all said no problems. It isn't related to high workload as it is happening even when just a couple of apps are running and the heaviest musical use I give it most of the time is basic stereo editing in Reaper. It also takes a long time to boot which seems to be slow working through it's POST (grey screen for a long time before the apple logo coms on) but once it starts to load OSX it boots very fast (SSD fitted last year which gave it a huge boost).Spec is 2.4GHz i5, 4 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD and I bought it new in Feb 2012. Three beeps suggests memory problems so I reseated the memory and swapping the two sticks around at the same time. My first thought was it was getting hot so I opened it up and cleaned the fan and other bits I could get at. This happens randomly and a couple of times it has beeped 3 times before shutting down. My late 2011 MacBook Pro 13" has, this week, taken to occasionally freezing and then shutting down.
